Adam’s Adventures In Wonderland

N8wog and I decided to go on a little urban camping expedition.

Day 1: We headed to Kyoto in an attempt to catch our fellow Serps show.
It didn’t work out, but we found a good spot next to the river and slept in.

Day 2: Climbed Mt. Inari (Fushimi-Inari Shrine) and visited Kiyomizudera.
Then headed to Osaka, saw the show and then slept in the back of a tiny park.

Day 3: We saw a funny little fellow with a fob watch running around,
saying something about being late, so we decided to follow him…

DirtDuo_Hole

Where we came across a mock turtle, aliens, vikings and slept in a mountain…

And even when we weren’t needing trains, they still showed up…

Day 4: We hopped a train to Hiroshima, ate Okonomiyaki at a really
awesome back-alley-family-restaurant, then sussed the A-Bomb Dome…

DirtDuo_Dome

That’s not lighting – it’s actually still fizzing with raditation.
We then bunked down next to the river. Great, until it started raining…

Day 5: We peaced out in the park and went to the utterly disturbing Musuem

DirtDuo_Bell

After that we jumped a street car over to “Miyajima” Island and saw this…

DirtDuo_Gate

There were deer everywhere all over the island, just hanging and eating.
This one was HANGING to eat the fresh shit out of that kids nappy…

DirtDuo_DearShit

We did our best Anthony Kiedis impersonations for the locals…

DirtDuo_Trolls

Bush-bashed up a river, through countless, insane spider webs…

DirtDuo_RiverRat

And climbed up/down Mt. Misen in the dark…

DirtDuo_Misen

Back to Hiroshima and we crashed at a capsule hotel – where I couldn’t
shower because I happen to have some dumb shit on my back.

Day 6: Back to the station and off to Kyushu. We got done by a ticket dog
and actually had to pay for some of our journey. Very disappointing.
It wasn’t too much though and we arrived in Fukuoka just after dark…

DirtDuo_Wolf

We hit up this heavenly little burger place and I had the best nuggets that
I have had the joy of eating since Feast On closed down (RIP)…

DirtDuo_Nugs

Central Park offered us a pretty nice little camp site…

DirtDuo_BedFuk

Day 7: The ferry to Iki Island was too expensive/long for us, so we ventured
to the closest beach we could find, to the disbelief of the information staff…

DirtDuo_Beach

Then in the evening we snaked a train up to Kita-Kyushu and boarded
an over-night ferry back to Osaka…

DirtDuo_Ferry

It had a wide selection of vending machines, including this bad boy…

Day 8: Pulled into port in the morning sunlight and frenched our way back to
Tokyo and our home-away-from-home, Sun Heights…

Steal. Trains. Daily.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don’t much care where–” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat. “–so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation. “Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
