Happy Thoughts

We went for a midnight ride last night. We started off just wanting to go somewhere neither of us had been before (which is piss easy for me) and ended up getting a lot more than we bargained for. Let’s just say, by the end I was knackered and my ass was killing. Here’s Oli contemplating the ‘Big Sausage’. These used to be available in a 2-pack labelled ‘Homo Sausage’. Seriously.

It’s some sort of fish stuff with flour or something. ~Delicious~ This convenience store reminded me of a Lawson’s in Kyoto where I saw a school girls undies for the first time… Such innocent beginnings.

We always manage to find unusual things, or maybe they just seem unusual when they are in the middle of Tokyo? After chasing some toads down a dirt path we found this mini-lake. If it had been hotter I would have thrown my broke ass in.

From the lake we stumbled upon a rad Hook-esque kids playground. Big concrete cartoon trees with a rope bridge between them and a flying fox!

It was a decent ride, a little bit longer and I would have stayed all night.

Oli got brutalized by mozzies while taking the above photo.

Right…

We continued our exploration of alternative crew identification mediums. Experiment 3 (preliminary testing): Fire Hydrant.

Our adventure ended up taking us far from where we had initially set out to go. After getting thoroughly lost and fumbling our way around, we stopped to ask for directions and found we had ended up near the bay in a city named after nerds (Ota-ku). We ploughed on, praying that we were in fact headed in the right direction, not recognizing a single suburb name as we pedaled our guts out. After charging our first raised expressway, we had ceased to be mere bike-riders, we had transformed into Road Warriors. Saw some cool Sect and Wanto pieces on the way back… somewhere

We finally found the road home and exhausted but relieved, I parted ways with Oli and continued the last, grueling 5km’s on my own. About half way home, I came across this…
